Abstract

ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) has become an important research field in recent years. One of the important components of Intelligent Transportation System is Vehicular networking, promising numerous, new applications for efficient road traffic, safety, and, infotainment. The dissemination of updated and consistent data in VANETs is very crucial as moving vehicles change their positions frequently. Cache inconsistency and outdated data can increase communication cost, and can result in higher query latency. This study's goal is to provide creative proactive caching strategies to lower communication latency in VANETs. We have considered the paradigm of cooperative caching, in which Roadside Units (RSUs) cooperate with remote servers to increase the rate of transfer of information and reduce overall network latency.
