Generalized Nonagonal Fuzzy Number and its Application in Assignment Problem

Abstract

Fuzzy number plays a dynamic part in decision makings because it is used to represent uncertain terms. Researchers employed triangular and trapezoidal fuzzy numbers for solving problems in uncertain environment. Fuzzy numbers have also been extended recently such as pentagonal, hexagonal, heptagonal and so on. This paper aims to generalize the nonagonal fuzzy number which contains set of 9-tuples. Membership functions and alpha cuts of linear and nonlinear generalized nonagonal fuzzy number with symmetry and asymmetry have also been derived. Finally, fuzzy assignment problem has been solved to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed fuzzy number.
